WotLK introduces the Achievement system!

Players can earn points for accomplishments in World of Warcraft. These points have Title rewards as well as other rewards not yet revealed. Over 800 achievements can be completed on various tasks. There are 9 categories of achievements, with many sub categories.


World Events
These achievements focus on the in-game holiday events. Subcategories include Noble Garden, Midsummer, Winter Veil, Lunar Festival, Children's Week, Hallow's End, Brewfest and Love is in the Air. Completing each of these will earn you a title such as The Hallowed or Brewmaster. Complete them all and you will earn a Violet Proto-Drake!

Player vs. Player
Player vs. Player achievements focus on Battleground, Arena and World PvP. Seven subcategories include: Strand of the Ancients, Warsong Gulch, Wintergrasp, Arena, Alterac Valley, Eye of the Storm and Arathi Basin. Completing all of the Arena achievements will earn you the title Arena Master and completing all of the PvP achievements will earn you the title Battlemaster!

Exploration
Exploration achievements are obtained by discovering and exploring the continents of World of Warcraft. Subcategories include all 4 continents: Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor, Outlands and Northrend. Some include: Explore The Hinterlands, Explore Blades Edge and the Title World Explorer can be obtained by completing all of the exploration achievements.

Dungeons & Raids
If PVE is your game, this achievement category is for you! This focuses on PVE achievements such as full instance clears, boss kills, and other dungeon missions. Six subcategories include Lich King Heroic Raid, Lich King Dungeon, Classic, Lich King Raid, Lich King Heroic and The Burning Crusade. Titles as well as various Proto-Drakes are the rewards of this category of achievements.

Sunwell Plateau


General
General achievements are targeted towards non instance, quest or raid related character progression. Things such as collecting a certain amount of vanity pets, mounts or tabards, raising a weapon skill to 400 or leveling a characer to 80. Several rewards in this category including completing Leading the Calvary will earn you an Albino Drake Mount.

Feats of Strength
Most of the achievements in this category, will not be completed by the majority of players. While no points are obtained in this category, very rare and difficult accomplishments from World of Warcraft are highlighted. There are no title nor rewards from this category, just bragging rights!

Reputation
The reputation achievement is all about raising factions to exalted. Three subclasses include The Burning Crusade, Classic and Wrath of the Lich King. Various titles are a result of completing these achievements.

Professions
Professions focuses just on that, professions. Both of your characters primary and all secondary skills have achievements in this category. The three secondary skills make up the subclasses in this category. Cooking, First Aid and Fishing. There are many titles to be earned!

Quests
Quest achievements focus on quest completion and world exploration. This is subcategorized into Classic, The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King. Some incluce Complete 54 Quests in Zangermarsh, Complete 2000 quests and Earn 10,000 gold from quests. You can earn the title The Loremaster from completing all of the Quest achievements.
